Biker Burger Talk

October 9th, 2009 by admin

Being involved with bikers, in a variety of ways, you hear about all the problems with the motorcycles.  I run a biker diner, and I have been hearing a lot about motorcycle shipping.  It seems the bikers in my state have been having trouble finding a good company to ship their motorcycles.  I thought it was a weird problem to have amongst these guys and gals, so I asked why the shipping was presenting such a difficulty for them. The different bikers have said that there has been multiple thefts and problems regarding the packaging of the motorcycles.  Apparently, trucks shipping motorcycles have been targeted by thieving gangs and have been losing a lot of merchandise.  The bikers say some companies aren’t worried about the theft, but they have sloppy motorcycle shipping.  They don’t package the bikes to travel safely, and a lot of people are ending up with damaged goods.  It’s not like the shippers can just wrap the bikes in bubble wrap and hope they arrive undamaged.  I feel bad for my customers who can’t find a decent shipper to send their merchandise.  Some of these bikers collect a variety of motorcycles, and they can’t add to their collection if they can’t receive their merchandise.  I hope the problem gets resolved before it starts effecting my business.
