A Business Motivational Speaker’s Advice On Using A Microphone
June 30th, 2009 by admin
Motivational speakers always appear so slick with a microphone. As a business motivational speaker myself, here are my top tips for microphone success. First off, decide in advance which microphone you’d prefer to use. Are you intending to stand behind a lectern for your entire speech? If so, then request a lectern microphone. Conversely, if you’re a more dynamic speaker, moving around the stage (and possibly walking into the audience) ask for a lavaliere clip-on microphone. After requesting the microphone you want (preferably well in advance of the business meeting) practice with it. While using a microphone isn’t difficult – which is why inspirational speakers look so professional – waiting until the day of your speech to practice with it is a huge mistake. Finally, inspirational speakers arrive at an event in plenty of time to do a sound check. And so, when they begin their motivational speech, the business audience is neither straining to hear nor deafened. Make these business motivational speaker best practices your own and be easily heard next time you give a speech.
