On my own with “our” debt

June 5th, 2009 by admin

When I decided to take action to turn my financial life around, I was recently divorced and at the bottom of a very deep hole of debt. Well-educated, with a Master’s Degree, I never expected to find myself in tens of thousands of dollars in debt and that horrifying feeling of being “out of control”.  I was drowning with more debt than I could handle.  It was bad enough acknowledging a failed marriage, but I also had no idea how I’d handle all of ‘our’ debt alone. I was devastated and frustrated because I wanted to set the record straight and clean up my accounts.  The debts were more than I could handle, and I didn’t know how I’d be able to pay off everything on my own.  Then one day I talked to the right person about my situation and I enrolled in credit card debt settlement.  Just a few more months to go and I will be debt free.
