Questions of Collaboration Strategies

August 23rd, 2010 by admin

In this interesting and exclusive interview Darren Adams from IBM discusses again collaboration strategies and how new technology offers mid-sized firms the chance to take on bigger rivals through the smarter use of technology. We can get answers to questions like does security and access come into this debate?  You can read David’s answer here: You could argue that just as easily as you could forward on a file attachment via email, content which is sorted in a central document repository could be downloaded and forwarded on by email, however, having documents managed centrally does put an extra layer of access control granularity on who can read and edit the document. This does help to control it, but in the end, there’s no substitution for some fairly heavy weight mechanisms like content filtering to check everything that’s going in and out organisations. But yes, doing things centrally, marking things as company confidential is a great assistance in this matter.
