The business Shirley is putting together

My friend Shirley is going to be opening a small home day care over the next few weeks. The reason she is doing this is simple economics. Shirley lost her job three months previously and couldn’t find another one. Her husband Bill encouraged her to start her own business to be able to stay home with their own kids. Shirley has been putting together a curriculum of sorts which includes lots of games and Funny Songs. Something else that Shirley is going to do is sign up for the USDA food program so she could get additional funds coming into the business.

Learn the Piano Starting With Chords

The best way is learn how to play the piano is to start by learning chords. These will go along with individual notes for a complete melody, but you can jump start your piano playing with chords. Be patient with yourself and remembering you’re practicing – so if you make a mistake, just keep going and then replay that section or song. A good lesson book will teach you several chords and then show you a song you can play with those chords. Soon you’ll be playing for family and friends. It personally took me about a month and a half before I had the guts to play infront of my friends, but when I did, wow, what a feeling!

Cool tattoo show

I was watching this show on TV, and they were doing some really sweet tattoos.  I don’t know the name of the show, but there was about 6 tattoo artists all doing tattoos.  They were doing portraits that looked amazing.  The person would bring in a picture, and the tattoo artist would transfer that picture onto the skin.  It was really cool.  I can’t think of anyone I would want permanently on my skin though.  I mean, I truly love my children, but I do not need their faces on my body.  I have enough pictures and videos of them.

Playing the Blues Guitar is Possible

I have been playing the guitar for years.  I am not really that good, but I really enjoy it so I keep doing it.  One thing I have always wanted to learn to play is the blues.  I could watch videos of Stevie Ray Vaughn play the blues for endless hours.  In the past I had only dreamed of learning to play the blues, but now I realized it is absolutely possible to play the blues guitar.  My wife found a great lesson online that she gave me for my birthday.  I am having a great time and making some incredible progress.

Your wedding day is the biggest day of your life.  That is, until you have children.  But back to my point.  I know the importance of having a photographic record of your wedding.  It isn’t just about the pictures, it is about having a great and creative photographer to capture your day on film in a special way.  I talked to a lot of Surrey Wedding Photographers before I selected the one I wanted for my wedding.  He really got the best out of that camera and made a wonderful use of time and film.  I didn’t see one bad picture in the whole lot!

Looking for Unique Entertainment for Our Wedding

My fiance and I are not what you would call conventional. We have been together for over five years. But before that we were both married and we each have our own kids. Now that we are planning our wedding, it would only stand to reason that we would not want a traditional wedding. We are looking for unique entertainment for our wedding. I have been looking into a London magician. I was thinking that something like that would appeal to not just our friends but our kids as well. Also, if any of our guests need to bring their own kids they will be able to enjoy the magic show as well.

Something Old On Something New

My wife got me a new iPod for father’s day (gave it to me a little early) so I’ve been scouting around for music and cool audio shows. It’s a video iPod, but I mostly use it for listening when I’m out on a walk.

One of the coolest things I’ve found so far is a bunch of old radio shows. Back when they made all of those, they had to put them on transcription discs and ship them out to the affiliate stations to play on the air, and eventually collectors got ahold of them – so all of these great old shows are available now. Jack Benny, George and Gracie, Groucho Marx – all of that great old comedy stuff.

Odd to be listening to a device that wasn’t even imagined back then, hearing shows that weren’t meant to survive.

Happy accidents rule!
