January 24th, 2010 by admin

A good number of people have been sharing with me that their windows 7 keeps freezing on their new computers.  It seemed to be a very common problem amongst my friends, but I was not really hearing anything from co-workers or in the media.  I decided to check out some of my favorite technical web sites to see if I could find anything to help.  When I came across this web site, I was relieved to have found some wonderful resources that addressed this very problem.  I will be making some referrals to this site in the very near future.  Thanks for the information.

Family Depends on Internet for School, Communication, and Entertainment

January 24th, 2010 by admin

Living in a remote area means our family depends on satellites for TV and Internet service.  We have no phone lines and unreliable mobile phone signal, so we access the Internet by satellite wireless broadband.  It is actually an improvement over the dial-up access that some city residents are still using.  Broadband gives us high speed Internet that is 10-20 times faster.  This is important when downloading pictures, movies, or music.  Our children attend school online and use the computer to research topics for their homework assignments.  My wife and I use email and Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family.  So you see that having dependable Internet service is extremely important to our everyday lives.

Wind Power

January 24th, 2010 by admin

Wind farms are appearing all over the US and Europe and China and India and a number of other industrialized nations. Onshore and offshore wind production continues to rise every year.   Renewable energy sources are being used with more frequency as we move to break away from the need for fossil fuel.   There are even cars in production that use solar panels for to charge their rechargeable batteries.   That same concept seems to work for boats and yachts but not with solar panels, boats instead are beginning to make use of marine wind turbines for their power generation needs.  We may eventually be free of fossil fuels.

How Many different times Can a Rechargeable Battery be Charged?

January 19th, 2010 by admin

I have a rechargeable battery set that I have owned for over 3 years now. It just amazes me how many times I have been able to recharge these same batteries. One would think that after a year or so, it would be impossible to continue recharging them. However, the ones I have always charge up to full use each and every time I charge them up. This just makes me curious as to how long these batteries last. Is there a certain amount of time in years that they are guaranteed to last? Or, have I just been lucky they have continued to charge for this long.

If you purchase a screen

January 7th, 2010 by admin

Most TVs sold in the consumer market will come with a stand. LCD TVs are easier to install than plasmas because they weigh less. Projectors are lightweight, and can be removed from an installed location and used in other applications – like a make shift outdoor theater. Plasmas are generally best installed by professionals. Plasmas are heavier, use more power, and run hotter than LCD TVs, and therefore require more hd plasma television planning when mounting them. If you purchase a screen, that will add significantly to the cost of shipping. Projectors are cheaper and safer to ship overall. They can usually be shipped for less than most LCD or Plasma TVs over 19-inches. Shipping LCD TVs is not difficult, and is not as expensive as shipping plasma displays. Special shipping methods and their heavier weight add to higher shipping costs.
