How to recognize a boil.

February 12th, 2010 by admin

A boil looks like a large pimple and is much more painful.  Boils usually appear on the face, neck, arm pits, or buttock.  They can also form on the eye lid; however, in that case they are called sties.  Unlike a pimple you cannot pop a boil.  Popping a boil will aggravate the infection further causing more pain.  A boil heals by erupting and by the discharging of the pus.  Heat will draw the pus to the surface and promote drainage.  Place a bandage over the boil to absorb the drainage and protect the area from further contamination. This is a proper boil remedy.
