What is Gout?

November 14th, 2009 by admin

As a common ailment, gout is a painful condition of the joints occurring mainly in the big toe joint where you can see the obvious signs. When you have gout, the joint is extremely painful, red and inflamed and you can also experience fever. There are drugs used to try and control gout because the subsequent attacks are nowhere near as bad. You can also have gout in other joints such as in the ankle and knee which makes it uncommon and harder to diagnose as the symptoms are much more subtle which leads it to be undiagnosed for a long time.
