Fire starter you might never have heard of?
September 27th, 2009 by admin
Typical fire starters have an origin that starts in the woods or on a retailers shelf, but today we will come up with one that even your most ardent camper has never heard of? We think of the classical fire starters as burnable materials that have a low flash point such as dry grass, bark, tinder, etc… Something a Boy Scout would naturally know about. Then comes lighter fluid in a container direct from the Super Market. But are you aware that you can pour a few spoonfuls of household sugar directly on to unlit coals when first starting a fire? When sugar is exposed to higher temps it breaks down and forma a chemical that will quickly burn! And there you have it!
