Testing Radon Levels at Home
November 20th, 2009 by admin
They’re selling a large selection of Radon Kits down at the hardware store lately. Grandpa talked to the owner, and he said it was because of concern about high radon levels in the air in some parts of the county. It seems that radon is a radioactive substance that comes from uranium breaking down in the soil. It’s really bad for you because it increases the potential to get cancer, especially lung cancer. Grandpa wants to pick one up for the house so we can monitor the levels where we spend most of our time. I wonder if they have them in our local school. I spend a lot of time there too.
