Types of Bookcases

June 14th, 2009 by admin

Bookcases come in various types – some of the popular and well-known ones apart from the built-in and the freestanding bookcases are corner bookcases, revolving bookcases, makeshift bookcases, and headboard bookcases.

While the corner bookcases usually have rounded shelves and a triangular top and are useful for smaller rooms, the headboard bookcases combine the headboards of a bookcase and a bed and have a couple of shelves to provide an easy access to books while in bed. The carousel or revolving bookcases either have separately revolving stacked units or are available as one entire unit. The last type, makeshift bookcases are temporary bookcases held by milk crates or cinder blocks and are more popular among students.
