Your campervan is not just your recreational vehicle of choice.  It is your home away from home.  You store items in your campervan you would not store in your car, items that are usually way more valuable than anything you would keep in your car.  When you park your van at a campsite, you may be liable for the area around your van.  If someone is injured anywhere near your van, you could be held responsible.  God forbid you have an accident and your van is totaled.  Even if you had the foresight to bring emergency cash in case you need to stay at a hotel, you will also need transportation to get there.  These are just a few reasons why you should not put off researching online or offline for a good campervan insurance quote.
