Quilting Fabric For Babies: Can Be Astonishing

August 13th, 2009 by admin

Quilting is a form of stitching used to bind 3 layers of fabric meant either for utilitarian or decorative purpose. A quilt usually consists of the top quilt, an insulating layer of cloth and a bottom backing fabric. Most popular means of quilting carried out presently are the traditional hand and machine quilting.

Hand quilting requires a needle and thread to knit the fabric layers together which is held by a quilting frame. Sewing machines are used to pin or tack stitch the fabric material temporarily held till the quilt is completely formed. Compared to hand quilting longarm quilting machines provided the quilter with faster and better yields. My next post will be about, quilting fabric for babies.
