Rich in legend and lore, the rake gets stormy times. The fares include slice charge and shikara crossing from the houseboat to the nearest ghat by the Buses from Indore. A house boat or a floating villa is typical thing with a varanda from where to view the panoramic lake, land and sky-”scope, a dining room, two or three bed rooms with separate attached baths and a lovely deck on the roof for basking in the sun. There is a separate boat for the servants and the kitchen. This boat is moored astern to the main houseboat. Then there are a couple of paddle boats or shikaras.
